Alex Clark is a Manhattan born artist currently living in New Orleans. Alex studied in Florence and London. Moving to Charlotte, N.C. in 1980, He showed for 14 years with Center of the Earth Gallery in NODA, Charlotte's original arts district. Included in New American Painting Vol.22 in 1999, Alex was selected as a Resident Artist at the McColl Center for Visual Art in 2000. Known for his narrative painting, Clark creates art that often explores complex, thematic, and symbolic narratives, including his noted "Forest of Suicides" series. He is a BFA graduate in Painting from Syracuse University and is the son of New York abstract expressionist painter James Clark, Alex has a strong artistic lineage
